Indiana Weekend

I headed back to Indiana for a weekend surrounded by football.  The Ball State Homecoming weekend included a reunion of my college dance team where I was able to catch up with old friends.

I also attended the Colts game with my father.  I have to say that the stadium was absolutely beautiful.

Family Reunions

During our trip in California we were lucky to have two family reunions.  The first was the Parichan side of the family.

The second was my Grandparents (on my father's side) 50th Wedding Anniversary and the family had a part at a local winery.  These pictures are thanks to my Uncle Paul.

Kings Canyon National Park

While visiting family in California we took a short trip to Kings Canyon National Park which is just over an hour from Sanger (where we stay while in California) in the southern Sierra Nevada. My grandparents took me to the park when I was very young and I have very fond memories of the trip.

Beware . . . you are about to see a lot of pictures of trees!

The park is famous for the General Grant tree which is a Giant Sequoia and the second largest tree in the world. President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed it the "Nation's Christmas Tree" back in 1926.

California Coast in August

My side of the family traveled to California to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary.  Prior to heading into Sanger and Reedly (near Fresno) to see the family, Abhay and I met my parents and Jani, my youngest sister, in Carmel to see the coast for a couple days.

Abhay played a round at the Links at Spanish Bay, one of the four Pebble Beach Golf Courses.

Birdie putt!

Abhay got a little artistic . . .

On the way back into Carmel we stopped at various view points along 17 Mile Drive for some pictures.

From Carmel Beach you can see the Pebble Beach Golf Links

In Carmel we stayed at my parent's favorite hotel, the Lobos Lodge

On the way out of Carmel we drove along 17 Mile Drive again.

New York in July

After taking the New York and New Jersey Bar exams at the end of July, Abhay and I hung out in New York for some much needed relaxed fun. We didn't do much in the way of sightseeing but I wanted to share two lovely spots.

The first is my favorite park in NY, Bryant Park. There is usually a piano player adding some music to the air and lots of spots to sit and enjoy.

My second spot is the Museum of Modern Art which holds some obviously famous pieces like van Gogh's The Starry Night.

And his equally as enchanting, The Olive Trees.

MoMA also has a wonderfully peaceful sculpture garden.
