So, I actually had to start studying which means that I don't have much to share today. Although, one of my friends asked how the language barrier was working out (since I know how to say only a few phrases to get around). I've actually just been doing fine using a phrase book where I can find what I need to say and point to the phrase written out in Mandarin. Shops and sellers all seem to have signs posted with prices or calculators in hand ready to type out the cost of items.
Our favorite phrase that seems to provide much amusement for the people we encounter is "wǒ bǔ dǒng" which means "I don't understand."
