Coming into Agra in the evening we took no time to relax and instead went to see the Agra Fort. Another UNESCO World Heritage site, it is the most important fort in India. The great Mughals Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb lived here, and the country was governed from here given its central location. At the end of his life, Shah Jahan (who built the Taj Mahal) was imprisoned by his son, Aurangzeb, in the fort - it is rumored that Shah Jahan died in Muasamman Burj, a tower with a marble balcony with an excellent view of the Taj Mahal.
A big hot tub.
The view from the fort - the Taj Mahal!
Lots of monkeys running around the fort.
The balcony discussed earlier from where Shah Jahan could view his wife in the Taj Mahal.
