I arrived at 1am and my first impressions of the city are of a brand new, modern airport, having my temperature taken by a device that looked like it could have put a price stamp on my forehead (swine flu prevention), and best of all, Abhay’s parents welcoming me to their city. The ride into the city was a quick 45 minutes due to there being no traffic and there was a wonderful soft summer breeze which was a relief from the hot, muggy weather I left behind in Maimi.
Note: From now on I’m just going to call Abhay’s parent’s by what I actually call them to cut down on repeating Abhay’s name every other word: Amma (mother in Kannada) and Appa (father in Kannada).
